One of the nice things about having multiple projects on the go at the same time is that if one is seizing up and not moving forward I can switch gears and work on one of the others. That overall forward momentum keeps me from focusing on the blockage and hopefully gives my subconscious time to figure out a solution to the other writing problem.
Comic writing involves collaborating with the art team (line artist, colorist, letterer, and usually an editor) and the writer is the first person in the production pipeline. I find that the pressure to deliver on time and make sure everyone else has the work they're supposed to can help me push through writer's block. People are relying on me and I don't want to mess things up.
