Cynthia Haggard
Cynthia Haggard asked Cynthia Sally Haggard:

How did you begin to write your first novel?

Cynthia Sally Haggard I love blaming things on my sister, but in this case, I can truthfully say that it was all HER fault!

My sister had saved a tape of Time Team doing a spot about Richard III. In the course of talking about this Wicked Uncle and how his nephews had disappeared in the summer of 1483, they talked about his mother Cecylee Neville, Duchess of York. Turns out that her eldest son Edward, who became Edward IV of England may have been illegitimate.

This set my novelist's brain on fire. What kind of a person, I said to myself, would Cecylee have had to be if she managed to get her husband to raise her illegitimate son, all the while keeping him wrapped around her little finger? And that was how THWARTED QUEEN, my first novel, was born.
