Was this story inspired by Beauty and the Beast?

Danielle L. Jensen Great question! I frequently see people talking about Stolen Songbird as a fairytale adaptation - it's even shelved under adaptations on Amazon (?!), but the honest truth is that I wasn't inspired by Beauty and the Beast or any other fairytale. It wasn't until after it was published that people pointed out the parallels between the stories, but it is purely coincidence. Or many the work of my subconscious? Truthfully, I think the reason most people link the two stories is the glass rose on the cover :)
