I have been the dog columnist for the Los Feliz Ledger in Los Angeles for the past ten years. I wrote a column many years back on an organization in Santa Monica that takes at-risk teens and has them train rescue dogs. I thought this would make an amazing premise for a novel. Also, years ago I had the difficult experience of owning a dog that had issues with redirected aggression.
