Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Patrick Highers My most recent book, "Planters of the Crown," is the first of a series. It has been an ongoing project since college. Ten years in the making and the story will unfold into the politically charged European environment surrounding the first English colony to America. I chose to begin this saga in Ireland, because it was there that a unique combination of historical characters ultimately find themselves entwined in a battle of religion fraught with greed, ambition and ultimate betrayals. Such were the circumstances that led to the disappearance of over one hundred souls somewhere on the shores of North Carolina.
