"Between Shades of Gray" and "Out Of The Easy" are some my favorite books. I saw that some people on twitter have gotten your book that will come out in February this year "Salt To The Sea". I was wondering how they were able to get it and if there will be a change to get it before February? Thank you!

Hi Scarlett!
Yes, SALT TO THE SEA, will be published in the US on February 9th. My US publisher has released some advance review copies to journalists and booksellers, that's why there's a few floating around. I believe there will be some galleys by the end of July and I will certainly post some giveaways on Goodreads.
I'm excited for you to read the new book. I'm still sad that the writing process is technically finished. Just as with my other books, I became so attached to the characters. :)

Hi Ruta! As someone who's family is still strongly connected to their Lithuanian heritage finding Between Shades of Grey was amazing because you don't see that country mentioned often. (My grandmother actually recommended it to me) All of your books seem to contain settings that we don't seem to hear a lot about, especially during the time frames you focus in on. What inspires you to select the settings you do?

I believe that some of your inspiration for the story came from a relative, besides the path of his journey, were there any other pieces of "Between Shades of Grey" that mirrored their life during the Holocaust? Also, Have you ever thought about Lina's, Andrius's, and the other character's future after the story ends? I'm not asking for a sequel, but what're your thoughts on what happens following the epilogue?

Hi! My class read Between Shades of Grey and it was a really impactful story that I really liked! I was surprised that I would like a book like this but I knew I really liked it when I read it in 2 days. What was your favorite part to write in the book? And I had a question about the characters; Was Lina's Papa actually shot in the prison camp or did he live? I hope you can answer my questions!
