Goodreads asked Alicia G. Ruggieri:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Alicia G. Ruggieri Well, let me start by defining what I think writer's block {usually} stems from: either fear or "running on empty." Fear - of not being able to adequately express yourself or that your writing is not good enough ... Running on empty - you've been writing too hard for too long and haven't taken the time to refill on inspiration. You have the "materials" or the vehicle, but you need gas. If the reason for my case of writer's block is fear, I give my story and writing over to God again; after all, He is the One for whom I write in the long run. If my writing is stalled because of "running on empty," I pick up some old favorite books to read and recharge ... I might go on a long walk ... clean something ... do something creative but non-writing-related. Usually, one of these things recharges me and then... I simply push on.
