How do you get inspired to write?

Kerry Hammerton I read a lot - both poetry and prose - and lines or ideas or words stick in my brain. I will be thinking about writing a poem related to what is currently "stuck" and then I will overhear something or see something in a newspaper or online that opens up a poem for me. I always find it an amazing process - it does mean that I need to pay close attention to my life and what is happening around me.
