Laurel Vaccaro
Laurel Vaccaro asked Janet Fox:

Hi, I am reading your book Faithful and I am loving it so far but I was confused the first chapter or so because from the cover I did not think it was a historical fiction novel. The dress the woman is wearing on the front is not from the time period. Was that intentional?

Janet Fox Hi Laurel! First, thanks so much for reading Faithful and I'm so happy you're enjoying it! I had to smile when I read your question, because when that cover first came to me, I asked my editor if there was any way to change the dress so that it looked more appropriate for the period. While I love the cover for other reasons, that dress has always bothered me. You're right - not only does it not look historical, it would have been highly inappropriate (not to mention cold!)
One of the things an author with a traditional publisher has no control over is the cover.
That said, I hope what you find inside is fun and enjoyable!
Cheers and happy reading - Janet
