Benjamin Obler Two things come to mind. One, being a writer is the reward, especially if you're able to make a living at it. The fact that my hands aren't on torque wrenches and lug nuts all day to make a living is the best thing about being a writer. The most rewarding part of it as a career is personal feedback from readers who are moved and engaged with the story you invented. That's pure magic.
