Goodreads asked Kartik Sharma:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kartik Sharma Write on a subject that you feel strongly about. This is the only way to be genuine and authentic, especially when writing your first novel. I wrote a few novel length manuscripts that I had thoroughly researched for before writing The Quest of the Sparrows - on a subject that was really close to my heart. The difference in the quality was immediately evident.

Also, writing is hard work. It requires you to be sincere. So please be mentally prepared for the same. It will require you to be resilient since you'll have to take criticism in your stride. Not every reader, every critic will love your book equally. However, take the criticism as a learning opportunity to improve your future work.

Lastly, enjoy the process of writing because there's no better feeling in the world.
