In all honesty, most of my book ideas come from really vivid dreams where either I'm the actor in it or I'm observing it from a weird omniscient point of view - like watching a movie. Sometimes the dreams are so vivid I have to write them down as an excerpt and figure out whether it goes with a current Work in Progress or is something for a separate one the day following the dream because I can't write anything else if I don't get it down. It's very strange.
