Have you ever read C.S. Forester's Hornblower series or other famous sea novels about Napoleonic wars? I've really enjoyed your Temeraire novels! Sadly they only published first and second books in finnish.

Naomi Novik I have! I love Hornblower, although the Aubrey/Maturin series is my own personal favorite. I'm also a big fan of the Sharpe series.

Hi, I'm really enjoying the series so far, so thanks for writing them. I've got a burning question though: is it possible to form a strong bond with a dragon without using a harness? Was Laurence's concern over Temeraire flying off at the start of the first book warranted? Or was it all European superstition?
