Goodreads asked Lauren Bird Horowitz:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Lauren Bird Horowitz I'm a big fan of having several projects going at once, so if I'm stuck on something, I can work on something else and give my brain a little break. For me what is most helpful is working in different forms at the same time. I'll be working on the third novel for example and get stuck, and decide to transition to write some poetry. Sometimes poetry inspires me in the next turn in the novel, and sometimes the novel will inspire me to write poetry. I also do screenwriting, which is a completely different process altogether and much more collaborative, especially in television. I do try to make sure I'm working on something every day, otherwise I find that I become too precious about my work, and get frustrated when it doesn't come out perfectly. By making a daily habit, I feel much freer to experiment.
