Hi Cornelia, I read the Inkheart trilogy in the English translation, but recently saw the German edition, and I wondered why the first poem was changed for the translation from Celan's to Silverstein's? Thank you!

I am so thrilled somebody finally asks that question! Thank you Melissa! The original poem was the Shel Silverstein. But I didn't like the existing German translation, not at all. When i tried myself though I realized that it is impossible to transfer the lightness of Shel's poem into German. A British friend had just given me a copy of Paul Celan poems, and when I read the one that opens the German edition I felt it is right, although it comes from such dark times. I also wanted German children to know about him, as Celan is not as famous in Germany as he should be!

Hi Cornelia! I am a huge fan of your books and I am also an aspiring author. I was hoping you might have some advice for me about sticking to writing. How many words would you recommend trying to write in a day? I also have so many ideas, but I jump around and never finish. I have finally chosen one to see through first, but now I am having trouble finishing my plot and just writing in general. Any advice?

Before I ask my question, I'd just like to say I LOVE the InkWorld trilogy. I read them back in fifth grade and will be reading them again! I'd just like to know, where did you get your inspiration to write them? I always like to know how authors get inspired to write their books! p.s.: I heard you're making a sequel to Dragon Rider. Super excited about that!!!
