Hi Cornelia! Firstly, I love your Inkheart series, they are in the top ten of all the books I've ever read. However, I've been wondering if you based any of the characters around a real person. Dustfinger for example. He has a really confusing personality, was he based on someone you know?

I asked myself where Dustfinger came from. But I never found the answer. There are glimpses of Aragorn in him, I guess, but he is for sure not noble and courageous. There are glimpses of my husband in him, who had the inner freedom and independence I love in Dustfinger. But otherwise he is one of those literary characters who step into my writing room and are so alive that I am quite sure they are real and only allow me to write about them:)

Wait... WHAT?! I am freaking out right now!!! There's gonna be a sequel to Inkheart?! I just read the "Are there going to be any more books" question and was like "Haha, you wish!". Then I saw the answer and nearly had a heart attack! Please tell me, you weren't joking when you said this! Because Inkheart is still one of my favorite MG/YA series and this... this is just a dream come true.
