Are you planning to write a sequel to "You'll Like It Here, Everybody Does"? My sense in reading it (along with its actual content) felt very much to me like you were rushing to share so many crucial themes/concepts - critically important ones, especially for American YAs, that the book could have gone on another 300 pages, integrating, revealing, explaining, anticipating so much that was just barely touched on.

Hello, J.D. Staton. Thank you for writing to me. I'm glad you are interested enough in the book to share your thoughts with me. To be perfectly honest with you, this is not the book I meant to write. Originally, I had planned to write a series of books called Blue Remembered Hills, about the environment, our treatment of animals, planetary colonization, the military, industrial complex, etc. Each book would feature the Blues visiting different times and places in the universe. When I sent the first fifty pages to an editor she began to direct me on how the book should go. It was my own fault for not following my instincts. Anyway, the result was disappointing to me and to my editor. It has not done very well, so no, there will not be a sequel to You'll Like It Here (not my choice for a title either). BUT on a much brighter note, I have begun my series on all the themes listed above. The series title is Mansions of Karma, and the first book, Lily of the Valley, is now available on Kindle and also in paperback. I hope you will check it out. It is a much, much better book, and all the themes, in time, will be given the attention they deserve. Book Two: This Other Eden is now in the works. Thanks again. I'm glad to get this off my chest! This may be a question you get a lot but do you have any plans to write about Belle Prater again? I started reading Belle Prater's Boy and could not put it down. Halfway through, I decided my kids needed to hear it as well. I am from West Virginia originally, and your dialect is so spot on and reminded me a great deal of my grandma.
