How do you get inspired to write?

M.E. Neidhardt I read, do research and observe nature, animals and people for my ideas. I have a house full of non-fiction research books like theoretical physics, science, astronomy, biology, rocks, trees, plants, middle earth theories, metaphysics, dowsing, you name it crazy theories that might not actually be so crazy and other books (and the internet, of course), where I get ideas for my science fiction/fantasy stories. I usually start an idea with "what if this fascinating thing were to happen to that other thing in a sci/fi/fantasy setting?"Then I try to connect it to some human situation/emotion we all can relate to and go from there.
