Often, an idea comes from taking an interest in a historical figure, a moment in time, an event, or an individual moment I want to explore. I will get ideas like, "What would it be like to be married to a Nazi officer?" or "Could I write something to better define this historical figure's humanity?" With fan fiction, it's more "I feel this moment wasn't enough... can I step into it further?"
