I didn't want to begin the typical way but I have to praise your work, especially with Lockwood&Co which has me deeply caught right now, I don't think I'm recovering from book hangover very soon. I'd like to ask a clever question but I'm far from that, so what comes to my mind is the skull and if it has developed some liking for Luce for some other reasons besides her being the only one who can hear it? Jonathan Stroud Hello Hailie, I'm so glad that you're enjoying the books so much! The skull's deeper motives are likely to be explored in later books, but it's certainly true that Lucy is special to the ghost, partly because she can communicate with it, but also because it recognises in her someone who is partially caught between two worlds, just as the skull is. It regards her with fellow feeling, much to her annoyance.
