I started writing Ruined Soul during a stay in Toronto as I fell in love with the city. To fuel my ideas and the preternatural elements of the story I drew heavily upon my knowledge of Norse Mythology and my own Danish roots, trying to get as close to the actual myths and legends as possible, while at the same time tweaking everything to fit into the setting.
