What has inspired you the most to pen down such an amazing YA book series? What inspired you to create Hunter? And are you like her?
Isabella Modra
My inspiration for Rouge originally came from my love for superhero stories. Smallville, Spiderman, X-Men, etc. I just love anything with the message of a hero - someone ordinary who becomes extraordinary.
I originally created Hunter as this badass, independent character with a lonely back-story and a hope that one day life would change for herself. But I love Hunter's transformation throughout the series. I love that she used to be just a normal teenager who thought she knew everything, who thought there was nothing more to life than school, college, careers and families. She had no idea of the rollercoaster life was about to strap her to, and she has grown SO much.
I'm a bit like Hunter. I've obviously never had to deal with anything like her story, but... I've grown through circumstances and it's opened my eyes to the things I need to be grateful for. I often long for freedom, and I like to come to people's rescue. I suppose I am somewhat similar to her, in ways I can't explain. She comes from my mind, after all. There's something there. I also firmly believe in the power of faith, hope and love. Love conquers all :)

Hi Isabella - I'm a long time (unpublished - as yet!) writer and a new member of the SA Writers Centre. I'd really love to get to your 12320pm session at SAWC this Thursday on Wattpad - but I can't make it as it's my son's birthday and I can't make it! Would there be any other way I could get in touch with you to get your tips and insights?
Regards
Catherine
