I can see a lot of Discworld references, they cannot be a coincidence. Do you really like all the Discworld books or just the witches ones (most of the references I noticed are from there - the rude song about hedgehogs I just saw, the voodoo queen making gumbo)? I love your Discworld references because I love Discworld so much. I'm enjoying your books.

I'm so glad you asked this question, Mika. Yes, I am a gigantic Terry Pratchett fan, and have definitely peppered the JP stories with references to his Discworld series. From James' owl (named for Corporal Nobby Nobbs) to flight instructor Cabriel Ridcully (a reference to the Archchancellor of Unseen University) to the myriad little details that connect the worlds, yes, the JP universe is unabashedly inspired by (and connected to) Pratchett's Discworld.
Perhaps a cross-over is in order someday? Perhaps Merlinus summons Rincewind via the Amsera Certh to take over the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?
Oh, now I can't not do that.

Hi Mr. Lippert. I’m a student of Advertising in a university in southern Brazil (FACCAT). I'm finishing the course and researching about fanfiction, specifically your works on the universe of James Potter. I’m wondering of you could help me with some issues, and answer some questions for me? I’d appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Maique

When you write do you use some kind of venn diagram? I've tried to do that before but I always feel kind of scatterbrained when I do, if that makes anysense. If you do, what method? I also love that you made a whole other series that connects to the Harry Potter series. I think I just found another favorite series to start reading :)

Why did you decide to come up with James Potter's series? I know that you didn't want this magical world to end but with such a great imagination didn't you think you could create your own independent storyline with different names in such a way so that nobody related it with Harry Potter? If you would have done that then too your books would have been a great hit, then why this series?
