Goodreads asked G.K. Noyer:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

G.K. Noyer People often think, including in one of the reviews I read, that is a "French" subject or that I came across it living in France. But the truth is, I first encountered this aspect of Voltaire in one of those American "Everyman's Library on (Voltaire, in this case)" that were popular in the 1950s. Picked it up for a dollar or two in a used book store in Michigan in the late '80s, and almost fell off my chair reading a half-dozen of his writings on religion it contained. I'd never seen anything like them before! "Everyman's Library?" The quest was on to find out more!
