Sylvain Reynard:
Why the deviation into the paranormal in a romantic and intense storyline? I understand the existence of paranormal existence ... having a few encounters personally ... but, reading paranormal stuff can trigger unwanted problems for many ... at least, for a book that wasn't paranormal (intensive, romantic and poetic) the deviation was quite unexpected ... Why did you opt for the paranormal side in the spin-off series?

Hello Sherin,
Thanks for your question.
The Florentine Series explores the same themes as The Gabriel Series - sex, love, redemption, and forgiveness.
The paranormal genre allows me much more flexibility in world-building than non-paranormal literature. I think writers such as CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien opted to write fantasy literature for the same reason - they wanted to explore various themes through mythology. In many ways, my new series is a re-telling of the myth of Cupid and Psyche, which is itself a powerful love story.
The Florentine series is a love story between a brave and unconventionally beautiful art restoration specialist and a mysterious figure from Florence's underworld, set against the backdrop of a robbery at the famous Uffizi Gallery.
Love transcends genre.

Hi! My questions are, 1. After creating and delving into a world of fiction, How do you leave after being so emotionally invested? 2. Have you ever had trouble letting go ? 3. You mentioned that you write in order to explore certain themes. What have you learned most about each theme, that has resonated with you, and has this in a way allowed you to understand your own experiences? Thanks!
