Kiera Knightly and Matthew Macfayden touch foreheads. 2005 Pride and Prejudice. Not BBC Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. An editor mistake?????

Hi Tina. Not an editor mistake--MY mistake. You wouldn't think I, one of the biggest Colin Firth fans and fans of the miniseries version of P&P would make such a mistake, but I did. When I was writing the novel, I watched Colin's P&P, which I've seen at least ten times over the past many years. Then I wanted to watch the Kiera Knightly version, which I'd never seen, so I did. And when I wrote the scene you note in my book, I Googled to get the wording right and copied it down--from the wrong film. Because I'd just seen the Kiera Knightly version, that wording was in my head and it sounded right to me, HOW I DON'T KNOW. It was the mistake of all mistakes and very embarrassing. I hope you were still able to enjoy the book. I feel terrible about it! Thanks so much for asking. -MM
