Sofie Hern
Sofie Hern asked Lurlene McDaniel:

The first one of your books I read was 'Don't Die my Love,' back in '94 and fell in love with the story. I continued reading your work through the years and you inspired me to become an author. I recently (self)published my first book and I feel ready for the next. How long do YOU usually wait after you finish one novel before starting a new project, and what do you do during your time off?

Lurlene McDaniel Congrats for finishing a book! It's a big accomplishment. As for me, I was writing two books a year in my prime writing years...and had a headful of ideas for more. Soon as I turned in a book, I started another. Loved the pace at that time---now my books are longer and take more time to write. I'd take mini-vacations and visit friends (they lived all over the country) and was fortunate enough to have family close by, so I could see them often. I wrote quickly and took weeks off between projects, but always had/have characters living inside my head who want me to tell readers their stories.
