how do you keep motivation and love for a certain plot line or book idea? this has been my usual problem as an aspiring writer and i just wondered how you get through this hurdle. i've been a fan for 8 years now, so i wanted this piece of advice from my fav author :) love from palestine <33

Thanks for reading! My main piece of advice is to forge ahead even when you lose interest or motivation. Finish the whole story anyway. It is VERY common for all writers (myself included) to get into a story and think 'Oh, this is too hard. I'll start working on another shiny new idea, and that will be easier.' Hint: It won't be any easier. You will have the same problem as before. Just keep going. Get to the end, no matter how iffy you feel about the first draft. I think you'll find once you've finished that you feel better about it, and you'll have increased your skills as a writer. Stay safe over there in Palestine and keep writing! We need your voice in the world!

Wishful thinking here: (If the show ever gets to HOO) In the hypothetical case that Will's actor happened to look similar to his character counterpart and he looked the same as Percy, with blue eyes and blond hair. How would you feel about still keeping in the "not my type" line Nico says when he drops the bomb on Percy in Blood of Olympus? I think it would be even more iconic, personally.

Are you optimistic—or at the very least hopeful—about the future market for children's literature in the coming years and decades? While there will always be children who love to read, it seems as though reading among younger generations is declining. What can authors, publishers, or educators do to reinvigorate a child's desire to read, and are there innovative approaches or past successes that give you hope?
