Hi, Hannah! I have a few books on my shelf about Medieval times. Life in a Medieval Village by Frances and Joseph Gies is my go-to book when I'm writing books set in England--The Merchant's Daughter and the Little Mermaid story I'm currently working on. I also have a few books by Tom Tierney--don't laugh, but they are coloring books and paper doll books--that help me with the clothing descriptions. These are extremely accurate to the time period. If you can find these, published by Dover, on amazon or other places, get them. :-) But these days I do most of my fact-checking online, just googling and looking at various websites on Medieval times.

Hi, Melanie. I've been reading recently about the pros and cos of traditional publishing versus self-publishing. To be honest the traditional publishing scares me. I've been reading a lot about losing control of your work, working on time crunches, and being unhappy with decisions that the publishing company has made. But self-publishing requires a lot of money to do everything the traditional publishers did. Help???
