Hannah Brook
Hannah Brook asked Melanie Dickerson:

Hi Melanie, I love your books I have read most of them. I was curious, which books do you draw your inspiration for your novels? I am working on a few historical fiction novels and they are medieval. Also I am interested in information books on Medieval culture as well. Thank you, Hannah☺

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Hannah! I have a few books on my shelf about Medieval times. Life in a Medieval Village by Frances and Joseph Gies is my go-to book when I'm writing books set in England--The Merchant's Daughter and the Little Mermaid story I'm currently working on. I also have a few books by Tom Tierney--don't laugh, but they are coloring books and paper doll books--that help me with the clothing descriptions. These are extremely accurate to the time period. If you can find these, published by Dover, on amazon or other places, get them. :-) But these days I do most of my fact-checking online, just googling and looking at various websites on Medieval times.
I hope that helps!
