Stephen Harper
Stephen Harper asked Taylor Buck:

How many of the historical scenes in The Medici Letters were based off actual occurrences? I know the Pazzi Conspiracy scene is based on real events, but what about the other scenes?

Taylor Buck Great question! In short—nearly all of them. The historical vignettes in The Medici Letters were based off actual documented accounts. From the roadside ambush to the joust at Piazza Santa Croce to the church assassination (Pazzi Conspiracy)...even the scene at Lorenzo's deathbed. These were all actual events that inspired the "scenes" within the novel and allowed a peek into the fascinating lives of the Medici family.
