Marc Mullo
Marc Mullo asked Alexander Kosoris:

Hello from Thunder Bay Alexander, how are you? My question today is a two-parter, first, is fantasy your favourite literary genre?, and, if so, why?, thanks, have a nice day, bye for now. http://www.facebook.com/poems40/ and http://www.facebook.com/marc.mullo.3/ among numerous other global website links, including http://sbpra.com/marcmullo/ and http://inkflash.com/marcmullo/

Alexander Kosoris Hi Marc! My favourite genre is, at a most general answer, literary fiction. So, while I wouldn't necessarily say that pure fantasy is what constitutes the stories closest to my heart, there happens to be a lot of overlap there. For example, with two of my favourites, Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat's Cradle, both are generally considered literary fiction, but they can both be classified as urban fantasy, and may even be considered science fiction by some.

To begin to answer the second part of your question, I think most of the joy I derive from literary fiction - and all good literature, for that matter - stems from the richness of storytelling that has grown over the centuries, with authors learning and building from their predecessors' work, still finding unique ways to build compelling narratives and making me stop and think about amazing things I had never even considered. I feel like reading such books helps improve my outlook on life.

Hopefully some of that was at least a bit helpful, and I hope to see you around town, Marc!
