My book club discussed "The Husband's Secret" and it was a very interesting talk. We wondered: did you intend the epilogue to be taken literally? OR - was it more of a "this COULD have happened" type thing. There were some parts of it that seemed a bit TOO perfect (like Polly becoming a tennis star if it weren't for her missing arm), and some of us wondered if it was a fantasy of a possible, but not real, future.

Mmm, I think meant it literally (or as literally as fiction can be)
Maybe you're right and the part about Polly was too perfect, I remember one editor said the same thing, and wanted to take it out, but once it came into my head it felt like that was the case: Polly WOULD have been a tennis star. (I'm so glad it generated an interesting discussion for you.)

I know this is about asking you a question but I do not have questions to ask as of now. Just started reading recently and I picked up your book - Big Little Lies. I love how you raised serious issues about domestic violence. Thank you for the questions at the end of the story - it stimulated my thinking. Moving on to The Husband's Secret next (you really love secrets? haha) Thank you Ms Moriarty.

Hi ! read and totally loved 2 of your books-husbands secret and what alice forgot. i was curious about alices best friend who dies in the car accident. seemed like maybe she wasnt such a positive character and was responsible for a lot of the negative changes in alices life in the 10 missing years....and yet you also seemed to make her a very god friend...did you like her or not?! thanks
