Goodreads asked Molly Noble Bull:

How do you get inspired to write?

Molly Noble Bull My name is Molly Noble Bull, and some might call me a Genre Jumper. Why? Because I enjoy writing everything from sweet romances, to westerns, to long historical novels set in Europe, to scary Christian Gothics, to books for children, to non-fiction, and everything in life seems to inspire me, especially interesting settings.
One of those interesting setting was the cattle ranch I lived on as a child and young adult. You see, my father and my grandfather were ranch managers, real Texas cowboys. and they inspired me.
I spent part of my growing up years on a sixty thousand acre cattle ranch in South Texas, and from time to time fiction writers have asked me questions about cowboys and ranches in order to write western novels. Many of the settings via my newest Christian western, When the Cowboy Rides Away, came from memories birthed in my childhood, living on a big cattle ranch in Texas.
