I love your novels. I am wondering what profession you would like to write about in the future?

M.J. Rose Thank you!!! My next novel, coming out in July 16 , The Secret Language of Stones, is about a jeweler and I LOVED writing about jewelry. I want to do another about that at a future date. I'd like to write about a sculptor, a rare book dealer, a auctioneer, and at some point I really want to write about a writer but every time I think I'm ready to do that it seems too boring to write about what I do every day.

I have read your all your novels since I discovered The Book Of Lost Fragrances, and it always amazes me how you manage to spin stories filled with magic and supernatural elements, while also weaving in parallel historical fiction and compelling, unforgettable characters. Would you define your books as fantasy fiction, historical fiction, or a blend of both?
