Goodreads asked Randall Gregg:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Randall Gregg A strange thing happened to me once - I received a voicemail from someone claiming to be a Colorado coroner. My wife, being cautious, looked up the official coroner's number on the state website. It was different from the one that called me. Even more unsettling, we discovered that the name the caller had given was connected to an ongoing investigation about multiple bodies being buried in single graves.

Skeptical but curious, I called back using the official number from the state website. To my surprise, the voice that answered matched the voicemail exactly - it really was the coroner! He asked if I was Randall J. Gregg, and when I confirmed, he simply replied, "I know." Then came the truly bizarre part: he was calling about a deceased man in his sixties named Randall K. Gregg, whose phone had only one number stored in it - mine.

The whole experience was so surreal that I initially thought it was an elaborate prank. While I've considered turning this strange coincidence into a book, I haven't quite found the right angle to develop the story yet.
