Hey Melanie! I love your books so much and I was wondering....Do you have any movies that are an inspiration for your books? Or specific film scores that you listen to while writing?

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Halee! I listened to Love Story by Taylor Swift a whole bunch while I was writing The Fairest Beauty, and I sometimes listen to Andrea Bocelli while I write. I am sort of generally inspired by Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre, my two favorite books. I have gotten an idea about a scene in one of my books from a movie, and I of course always watch the Disney movie version of every fairy tale I write about. And Josh Duhamel really stuck in my mind while I was writing The Golden Braid after I watched one of his movies, and he became my inspiration for Sir Gerek. Which was quite nice. :-)
