Indira Wolf
Indira Wolf asked Devri Walls:

Hi, I was wondering how you brought the Solus concept to life? What was your inspiration to write the series? Did certain aspects appeal to you while writing these novels? Thanks!

Devri Walls Oh man! Complicated question actually. So, Wings of Arian was the first book I ever wrote and as such things developed as they went much more than when I write now. But the actual concept for the theme of the story came when I watching T.V one night. It was a darker show and someones throat was slit. I was suddenly startled that I'd had no reaction to it--I was so desensitized. And i thought, my grandmother, or someone who'd lived a hundred years ago, would've been horrified! As I thought about how much it would've pained them versus how little effect it had on me the land of Meros and the theme of Kiora's pain was born. After that I had to move into the idea that good and evil is not black and white and thus began her subsequent journey. As far as certain aspects, I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I love to work in the fantasy genre. It always appeals to me when I read because it's a total escape! It's the same when I write it. Does this kinda answer your questions? You can ask for clarification if I was totally off the mark.
