I love you books and all of my friends love them and I have been inspired to write my own book, do you have any tips and tricks that you could share. I also have some questions. What inspires you to write each book and how do you come up with the plot but still keep the fairy tale?

Hi, Sarah. My tip is to do what I did and read as much as you can about how to write well. I addressed in this another answer here on Goodreads. I also like to read the original fairy tale, watch at least one film version of it, and let them inspire me with ideas. I usually have other things already in place for the story, such as setting and/or characters, so I let all the elements mesh together in my mind. I also brainstorm with friends or family sometimes.

Hi Melanie, today I just finished what could potentially be my first novel and I'm not quite sure who to go give it to for suggestions. I've read that you shouldn't give it to your family members first. I have a person lined up who is a relative stranger but I'm not sure what to do. What do you think I should do?
