Stine asked Gail Carriger:

Hi, Gail. Thank you so much for introducing me to steam punk! I knew about it before from a book about making props (which was really cool), but I had never read steam punk fiction before. Now for my question. I thought it was really cute how Alexia calls Rue infant, did this start after they got home from Egypt when she realised her daughter might not like the name Prudence? Sorry if the answer is in the book. :P

Gail Carriger It starts in Blameless when Alexia begin to refer to unborn Rue as "The Infant Inconvenience." Then later, when Rue objects to her name, she starts to call her that to her face.
