Goodreads asked Jasmine Walt:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jasmine Walt Unfortunately, inspiration is rarely something that strikes me out of the blue. As the majority of professionals will attest, you can't wait for inspiration to strike, you have to find it. Usuall this means forcing my butt into the chair and getting started. After the first few paragraphs things tend to roll forward naturally but starting is always tough, whether or not its an entire book or just a single writing session. Its important to know the difference between inertia and burn-out -- when you're truly sick of writing and just can't stand to be at the keyboard that's when you put your work aside and take a break for a bit. But otherwise you have to discipline yourself to sit down and do it. That's the only way to get anything done.
