Marie Sexton:
What would you recommend to a writer (that already has a mm story) to make the first step to be a published author? Thanks!
Marie Sexton
First, I would say, make sure you have somebody beta read it. Not your mom or your best friend, but somebody who'll be honest and give you constructive advice (and you need to be ready to hear it, too). Second, don't be afraid to take a chance and submit it to a publisher. I really didn't think my first book was good enough to be published. I might never have sent it anywhere if it hadn't been for the encouragement of a couple of good friends. As an author, it's easy to feel like the book is never quite done, but at some point, you have to take a deep breath and hit 'send'. :-)
Thanks for the question!

Hi Marie; Does your husband read your books? Actually, if the question is too personal, I'm interested in the impressions of straight males when reading MM books. I know that it would be silly to generalise but I think it would be informative to have some feedback from straight male readers. Being a gay man, I'm ironically in the minority of MM books readers... Thank you again for your books.

Hello!:) I just reread Trailer Trash, and it's one of my absolute favorite books - I like all the themes: the 80s, the suffocating small town, two teenagers desperate and willing to work for something better.. I was wondering if you can recommend any of yours (or someone else's) books with the similar set up/feel? Thank you very much for that book:) It inspires me to study:)

I just finished reading Trailer Trash and I loved it. It was such a fun, heartbreaking, joyous, and heartwarming trip back in time! This question is a bit of a spoiler, but where do you see Nate and Cody today? If you had a crystal ball, what do you think they would be doing in 2016?
