I'm a great people 'listener'. I throw odd questions into the air to find out what comes back - some are nonsensical, some are idiotic, and some are interesting that people want to debate.
For instance, I'll hear a couple of girls engrossed in a conversation say, about lipstick colours, and I'll throw them off the course of this and ask them: "Do you think there's another 'realm' beside this reality we live in?"
Then I watch their physical, emotional and verbal responses.
At first, they'll look at me as though I'm mad, because, I've asked them to think of something way beyond what their minds were focused on. Then I sit back and let them indulge themselves with thinking 'outside the box' they were in.
From their conversations arise little gems of ideas. For me, these are seeds that begin to grow into stories.
