So happy to hear that you have another book coming out! I have bought both Clown Girl and The Stud Book. My question is regarding the post on your blog mentioning the writing advice Chuck Palahniuk has given you. Do you often share ideas or read each others work in order to improve your work? If so, do you think this has had a clear influence on your writing as well as his? Any examples? Thank you for your time :)

Monica Drake Yes! We meet in a writing workshop every Monday night, along with Chelsea Cain, Lidia Yuknavitch, Suzy Vitello and others. It's an amazing group! We've been meeting since before anyone had work out, so we've grown as writers together. I love my workshop, my friends. This group has been written about in a few places, including a piece by Chelsea Cain in the NYT's, and one in the Oregonian when Cheryl Strayed was still joining us (and we hope she may come back, at some point the in future).
