Goodreads asked Michael K. Foster:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael K. Foster It might not work for you, but it certainly works for me, is the process of observing things of everyday life and writing your ideas down. Yes, I keep copious notes, I need to, I’m the sort of guy who wishes my glasses had a dialing number to them.

The truth is, I never know what’s going to happen in my books. I don’t start at the beginning, neither do I work at the ending as many authors do. I work on an idea and expand on it never knowing where it’s going to take me. I call it my sculpturing process – just as a sculptor adds more clay or chips away at the subject matter. So if I ever do get writers block, I take a walk and think about another chapter!.
