Goodreads asked Richard Foreman:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Richard Foreman Although I have experienced periods when it has been difficult to maintain my output as a writer, for various reasons, I can't say that I have ever personally experienced 'writer's block'. One might be stuck, unable to make progress with a particular project, but it seems to me there are always things to write about if you want to. In those 'stuck' situations I look for creative diversions - pick up some other unfinished project, write poems or memoirs or essays, whatever. Get back to the feeling that writing is fun. Usually, by then, something is developing in my brain at a subconscious or unconscious level as regards the problem I'm stuck on. Or the other activity itself leads me back to the primary project, with a changed perspective.
