Keith R.A. DeCandido I'd love to write more FIREFLY/SERENITY books, but that would require a publisher to take on the contract to do so. The way it works with pretty much every tie-in property is that a publisher buys the rights from the owner of the IP -- in this case, I don't even know who it would be, since 20th Century Fox owns FIREFLY, but Universal owns SERENITY -- and then the publisher hires writers. Since the property is, at this point, over a decade removed from any new on-screen material, I'm not sure if a publisher would be interested in taking it on.

Having said that, if a publisher did take it on, I'd be lining right up. I actually wrote an outline for a SERENITY novel back in 2005 called THE HERO OF CANTON, and I'd love a chance to actually write that book............
