A Goodreads user asked Georgia Clark:

Hi miss clark im aaliah i have just finished reading your amazing book PARCHED and i found it very intriguing. It made me question what makes us human and how we love, my quetion is about the last word of the book "more." what is the symbolism or intention of the word? What is your interpretation?

Georgia Clark Hi Aaliah! Thanks for reading PARCHED -- I'm so pleased it raised such interesting questions for you about the nature of being human and ways in which we can feel for others. That was absolutely my intention! As far as the last line, I feel strongly that every reader makes sense of the story how they want, so no interpretation is wrong or less accurate than the next, but personally, I liked this romantic, sweet request for "more", of Tess' kisses, her love, her new role as his partner, when before, we'd seen Hunter asking rather mechanically for "more" when he was tutoring her. It was a fun echo for me, to see how much he's changed.

Sending you lotsa love -- hope you had a wonderful day!
