I write about things that interest me and things that I want to explore. It's a great excuse to do research, and also a great reason to do lots more reading! Writing sometimes means lots of stops and starts because of breaks to check things out.
I'm fascinated by myths, legends, magic and mystery - all the narratives that try to explain our reality, and that includes family histories. People are fascinating! What motivates an individual to act in a certain way is one of the most interesting things.
We all love telling stories and listening to stories, whether it be at work, at home, or down the pub. I like doing all of those things, but I also like writing them down.
