Goodreads asked Celeste Boudreaux:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Celeste Boudreaux I've been thinking about Sherry and the Butterfly Lady for about 15 years! It started as a silly little fancy of an idea. I had gotten a crystal prism and hung it from the rearview mirror of my car. I liked how the tiny little rainbows floated around the interior of the car as I drove, and I imagined them as being fairies. Fairies in their daytime form, of course. And I developed a backstory that fairies were originally born when a big rainbow got broken, and all the little pieces became fairies. This eventually became the heart of one of the fairy tales in my book.
