Kelly Zekas I am so sorry! I just found questions we missed so this is a very late reply. But to answer your very flattering question, we have a couple tricks for writing dialogue. Firstly, like many writing partners, we don't keep a joke unless it makes us both laugh. Secondly, you know when you remember what you REALLY wanted to say to someone way after the conversation ended? Well we do that, except we get to write it down and go back and insert it. Our first drafts are as dry as textbooks.
